Michael Vallone leads Booz Allen’s commercial cyber risk management practice. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role. Michael is an expert in applying an offensive cyber-threat mindset, and in the design, development, and implementation of world-class cybersecurity and risk management programs. His engagement teams are focused on helping clients across all major industries enhance cyber resilience and make risk-informed security investment decisions. In doing so they leverage next-generation solutions such as managing risk using telemetry data and analytical risk models, integrating businesses through enhanced operating models, and building technology-enabled solutions that scale and increase time-to-value.
Prior to his current role, Michael spent more than 8 years in Booz Allen’s federal practice, supporting clients across the U.S. government on various classified cybersecurity and risk management projects. His work included designing military-grade network encryption devices for the National Security Agency, designing and helping to implement cryptographic modernization strategies for the U.S. Navy’s submarine fleet, conducting cyber risk assessments of NASA facilities across the country, and designing risk management programs for numerous Department of Defense clients.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Michael worked in engineering and technology consulting for a number of businesses, including an early dot-com-era technology startup, a large defense contractor, and a Big 4 consulting firm. His career has taken him to more than 25 countries, where he often spent significant time onsite leading large-scale cybersecurity and engineering transformations.
Michael holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Bucknell University. He has also earned an executive leadership certificate from Harvard University and is pursuing an executive scholar certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
